    Grounds Maintenance Operative

    (40-hours per week)

    The Northern Racing College seeks to employ two Ground Maintenance Operative’s to join its enthusiastic, vibrant and hardworking team.  As one of only two specialist horse racing colleges in the UK, this third sector provider delivers training for people in both racing and other equine industries.  Located in the scenic grounds of a private estate near Doncaster, it achieved Ofsted Grade 2 in 2016.

    To be selected for this interesting, challenging role, you must hold an appropriate grounds qualification, or have proven grounds experience.  Amenity tractor with trailed implements and loader qualification is essential.  PA1 & 6 spraying qualifications are desirable.  The work entails working outside in changing and inclement weather conditions and at times it can be physically demanding.

    Hours of work:  40 per week, include a ½ hour unpaid meal break each day, and are shown below:

    Post 1                                                   

    7.00am – 4.00pm (Mon)

    7.00am – 3.00pm (Tues)

    7.00am – 3.30pm (Wed-Fri)

    Post 2     

    8.30am – 1.30pm (Sat)

    6.30am – 3.30pm (Mon)

    7.00 – 4.00pm (Tue)

    7.00am – 12.30pm (Wed)

    8.00am – 3.00pm (Thu-Fri)

    We are prepared to change post two, so that you work longer on the Saturday and have Wednesday off, if that is the preferred option of the successful candidate.             

    The salary is £17,076.80 per annum with a contributory pension scheme, an initial holiday entitlement of 25 days, plus Bank Holidays, and free membership of our Westfield Health Foresight Plan.

    Buildings Maintenance Operative – (Initial 3-year fixed term contract)

    (24-hours per week)

    The Northern Racing College seeks to employ a Building Maintenance Operative to join its enthusiastic, vibrant and hardworking team.  As one of only two specialist horse racing colleges in the UK, this third sector provider delivers training for people in both racing and other equine industries.  Located in the scenic grounds of a private estate near Doncaster, it achieved Ofsted Grade 2 in 2016.

    To be selected for this interesting, challenging role, you must hold an appropriate buildings maintenance / decorating qualification, or have proven experience in the field.  Be confident when working with hand tools, and have excellent knowledge of Health and Safety matters in this area.  Heavy lifting can be involved, and you should feel comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.

    Hours of work:  24 per week, include a ½ hour unpaid meal break each day, and are shown below:

    7.00am – 3.30pm (Mon)

    8.00am – 4.30pm (Tues)

    8.00am – 4.30pm (Wed)

    The salary is £10,246.08 per annum with a contributory pension scheme, an initial pro rata holiday entitlement of 25 days, plus pro rata Bank Holidays, and free membership of our Westfield Health Foresight Plan.
