THE LEGER LEGENDS RACE AND CHARITY LUNCH
The Leger Legends Race is the only British charity race for ex-professional jockeys. It takes place on the first day of the St Leger Festival at Doncaster Racecourse and has become the feature race on that day, capturing the attention of the national racing media and increasing the number of racegoers to Doncaster significantly. The race, which was first run in 2010, is a focus for a wonderful charity lunch – arguably the most entertaining and fun racing lunch in the calendar. The Injured Jockeys Fund Jack Berry House is the other beneficiary of the event.
The funds for NRC are being directed towards additional learner accommodation which is a necessary development for NRC to maximise the number of trained stable staff it can provide for the industry, as well as accommodating fee-paying course attendees on-site. Please help NRC and Jack Berry House (a facility for injured jockeys in the North), and buy a table at the 2019 Leger Legends lunch. It’s a brilliant lunch where you mingle with the Leger Legends Jockeys 2015 included A P McCoy before and after the race, as well as Legends such as Lester Piggott, Joe Mercer and Willie Carson (and more), who are invited to the lunch.
